I have no idea what a "soprano" is, but from the way of the girls were giggling, I knew it wasn't a good thing.
나는 소프라노가 무엇인지 전혀 몰랐는데, 몇 명의 여자아이들이 킥킥 웃는 걸로 보아 좋은 것은 아닌 걸 알았다.

Tryouts went on forever.

오디션은 계속 이어졌다.

 

The grand finale came with auditions for Dorothy, who I guess is the lead character in the play.

오디션의 대단원의 막은 도로시 역할 오디션이였는데, 연극의 주인공인 것 같았다.

 

And who should try out first but Patty Farrell.
패티 파렐이 처음이자 유일하게 도로시 오디션을 보았다.

I thought about trying out for the part of the witch, because I heard that in the play, the Witch does all sorts of mean things to Dorothy.
나는 마법사 역할에 지원할까 생각했다. 왜냐하면 이 연극에서 마법사가 도로시한테 온갖 나쁜 짓을 한다고들었기 때문이다.

But then somebody told me there's a Good Witch and a Bad Witch, and with my luck, I'd end  up getting picked to be the good one.
하지만 그 때 누가 나한테 착한 마법사하고 나쁜 마법사가 있다고 말해 줬다. 내 운으로는 착한 마법사로 뽈힐 수도 있다.
